Pretty Prints

5th grade's first printmaking project is on display and is lighting up the hallway! After carving our plates, we also created two different types of dyed paper to print on- one using bleeding tissue paper and water and another using the Japanese technique called Kyoketsu-zome (involving folding rice paper a certain way and dipping the corners in dyes of various colors).After creating about a dozen prints each, students chose their favorite four for display (the colors are:
