Fifth grade boys became industrial designers for thier last project, considering the factors that might go into the design and function of a guitar. Students looked at images of different kinds of guitars before creating their own working sketches. Using foam board to construct their instruments, the boys designed and painted their life-size, imaginative sculptures of their dream guitar! (You might imagine there was a fair share of “air guitar” being played over the course of the project- Art really does rock!) Here are a few:
