I really do teach 8th grade... sometimes!

It occured to me today that I have only posted once about eighth grade! Sadly, I only see my eighth graders five out of ten days and inevitably, one or two of those always seems to fall on a high school shadow day, a half day or a day off... But, I did want to take a minute to post a few pics of the kids working on their current project- a multimedia still life.

First, students did a line drawing of one of three still lifes set up in the room, like this one:

After completing their line drawings, students cut them into four sections. One section was shaded with pencil, like a traditional still life drawing. The second section is to be completed using collage materials. Here is one student showing hers off (almost done!) and a group of students finding the right colors in various magazines:
