Plaster "Self Portrait" Masks

We're getting to the point in the year where there are quite a few repeater projects from first semester. While I like to change projects from year to year, and also from class section to class section, some projects that I do with my first semester kids I keep around and also do with my second semester courses too... Often students get really pumped to do a project that they saw their classmates do in art during the first semester. And, no matter if a project is a repeat or not, I always see new and exciting interpretations of the same assignment depending on the artist.

Anyway, enough rambling. Here are my second semester 8th graders' plaster self portrait masks, although these rounded three-dimensional works are a challenge to really see on a photograph the way you would in person!
