Multimedia Still Life

In this artwork, seventh graders got to learn about and experiment with four different mediums in one project. After completing a line drawing of one of four still life setups around the room, students sliced their paper into four sections. Each section was completed using a different medium- graphite, oil pastel, collage and watercolor. When the pieces were reassembled, the resulting artwork is a bit abstract and all are unique and beautiful!

  1. Hi! Just came across your blog via Pinterest. Great projects! I've been teaching MS art for 8 years and equally enjoy my job. I actually do a multi-media project as well with my students, but I base it on Chuck Close and use grid techniques for a self portrait! Thought it was kinda funny that it was a merge of your Close color field paintings and multimedia stills :)
