Channeling "la Pieta"

In Art History Class, students are working in groups on their final projects- creating movies (using MovieMaker) about topics covered over the course of the quarter. Today the "sculpture" group performed and filmed a reinactment of a scene involving La Pietà, a 1499 masterpiece of Renaissance sculpture by the renowned artist Michelangelo Buonarroti, housed in St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City.

The scene: According to the history books, when Michelangelo once visited St. Peter's to see his scultpure, he overheard other visitors guessing who carved the amazing work. They guessed it was an artist nicknamed "the Hunchback" who lived in an outlying city, which did not make Michelangelo very happy. Later, in the middle of the night, he returned to the Basilica and carved the words "Michelangelo Buinarroti the Florentine Made It" across the sash that runs across Mary. As far as anyone knows, this is the only piece of art Michelangeo ever signed...

The kids version and the real deal, funny huh??:
