Welcome back everyone and Happy 2010! No completed projects to report but here's what's going on in my classes this week:
Fifth graders are glazing the slab boxes they made before the break:.jpg)

After a lesson in shading, sixth grade artists are adding value to the shoe drawings they worked on before break:.jpg)

Sixth grade art historians are working on an art project in which they have drawn their initials in perspective using a ruler and a vanishing point, the way artists began to show perspective in the Renaissance:.jpg)

Seventh graders just began a new project. They are making self portrait paper dolls and acting as fashion designers to create clothing inspired by art styles (like Impressionism, Cubism, etc.):.jpg)

Eighth graders are knee deep painting coffee/tea mugs and cups on 16"x20" stretched canvas. Later in the spring, there will be an 8th grade art show of these works on display at a local coffee shop. Stay tuned!:.jpg)
