iExpress Myself!

Third quarter 5th grade boys completed the same project that the 1st quarter boys did... the digital iPhrase project! Inspired by iPod ads in the media, they came up with an "iPhrase" and a pose that would clearly portray their phrase in a silouhette. First, I took a photo of each student posing for his piece against a green background:
Next, the boys used Adobe Photoshop to crop and manipulate their photographs... Here they are using the "magic wand" and "lasso" tools to select the green background and change its color:
The next step was to change their body into silouhette, by making it all black, and adding their "iPhrase" to the piece. Here are the final products:
