Fifth grade boys became industrial designers for this 3-D guitar design project by considering the factors that might go into the design and function of a guitar. Students looked at images of different kinds of guitars before creating their own working sketches of a "themed" guitar. Using foam board and cardboard to construct their instruments, the boys designed and painted their life-size, imaginative sculptures of their dream guitar! You might imagine there was a fair share of “air guitar” being played over the course of the project... see for yourself below. Art really does rock!

This quarter's themes were: A ping pong guitar, birthday cake guitar, fruit guitar, candy guitar, laptop guitar, baseball guitar, Civil War cannon guitar, magic guitar, bird guitar, Medieval castle guitar and a peace guitar
