Hi- I taught them about tessellations and how to make their own (I am sure you could Google this) and they painted theirs using either a warm or cool color scheme. They mixed their own colors and used acrylic paint. To create the face/portrait, students traced the light and dark areas of their faces using a projected digital photograph. Using the opposite warm or cool color scheme from their background, they painted their portrait, making sure their light and dark areas were highly contrasting.
Love these! Can you tell me process to complete them?
